Big Island Bowls was created by myself (Kelly Hazouri), and my partner (Brendan Schneck). We were best friends at Flagler College; then ended up together years after we graduated. This is our story of taking the road less traveled, discovering our authentic selves and following our bliss!
NewYork Beach Bagels
Mike Paladino grew up in West Islip, NY. He has found memories of eating bagels with his family every Sunday morning (his favorite is a whole wheat everything with light veggie cream cheese). Mike, inspired by his father, developed a passion for cooking at a young age. He met co-owner Brendan through lacrosse and the two became close friends. Their love of surfing and warm weather would eventually lead them to Florida.
Funkadelic
We are a gourmet food truck, serving the funkiest, freshest cuisine in beautiful St. Augustine, Jacksonville, and surrounding areas!
We offer a wide variety of dishes ranging from our gourmet brisket, short rib, and chuck blend burger to our sushi-grade yellowfin tuna poke dish.
Catering to our lovely Funkateers all the way to Atlanta, Georgia, we dish out the best music festival food you will find!
Our dancing machine Funk Mobile definitely stands out by itself. Then of course, as we open our service window, the FuNk TuNes begin to boogie- not to mention everything we serve is *Truly* made from scratch, made*to*order! Doesn’t get much better!
Food Truckin isn’t easy, but it sure is fun!

Matt and Rhyan started Pele’s in 2010 with a love for pizza and the passion for wood-fired cooking. Before moving to Northeast Florida, Matt and Rhyan were living on the Big Island of Hawaii. Matt was a pizza cook at Kuki’o Golf and Beach Club near Kona honing his skill of making handcrafted pizza. He was fortunate to be tutored under Executive Chef Michael Bilger at Kuki’o who was renowned previously from Napa restaurant’s, Vivande Porta Via and the Carneros Inn in Northern California. Only the very best was acceptable at Kuki’o, and Matt was always making pizza for the uber-elite of society.
